FLORHAM PARK, NJ, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Morris County Chamber of Commerce recently brought together the nonprofit community from Morris County and the

surrounding area for its inaugural Thrive Together Summit, held at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison. The summit enabled representatives from various nonprofits to connect, learn, collaborate and take action steps to thrive.

“The Thrive Together Summit is Morris County's premier cross-sector gathering for nonprofits, businesses, government leaders, funders, educators, volunteers and community advocates committed to strengthening our region,” said Dr. Kimberly Iozzi, the chamber’s vice president of operations and programming. “This event was designed to spark ideas and inspire action. This one-day experience brought people, organizations and resources together to address community challenges and create meaningful impact.”

Attendees were able to:
• Learn and discover, explore innovative ideas and proven practices, discover resources that support their mission and strengthen organizational capacity and community impact
• Connect and collaborate, build meaningful cross-sector relationships, connect with potential volunteers, interns and board members, and develop partnerships with businesses, nonprofits and funders
• Engage and take action, enjoy a dynamic keynote presentation, participating in timely and relevant breakout sessions, experience an insightful panel discussion and interact with community organizations in a resource expo

The keynote presentation was provided by Monique de Maio, founder and chief marketing officer of OnDemandCMO, author and strategic advisor. De Maio works with Fortune 500 to mid-market technology, nonprofit and educational organizations on their branding, messaging, positioning, content development and go-to-market strategies and implementations.

During her presentation, titled "You Always Have a Choice: Three Small Decisions That Change Everything," de Maio ensured attendees that we always have a choice, that we are not stuck…not with the calendar that runs us, not with the story we have been telling ourselves since we were five and not with the version of ourselves that showed up to work this morning. Through an interactive exercise, she helped attendees find their three words that should filter every decision we make to help us choose intentionally and wisely.
The day also featured breakout sessions titled:
• “Transitioning From Fundraising to Philanthropy” by Kelly Castro, vice president of philanthropy at Greater Somerset County YMCA
• "Partnerships that Create Real Community Impact," moderated by Chelsea Dormer, senior vice president, business banking sales leader at Valley Bank, and featuring Joanne Bjornson, CEO of Family Promise Morris County; Melinda Iannarone, chief strategy and impact Officer at ARC Morris; and Joanne Lopez, Vice President, Regional Community Outreach officer, and Halbert Rodriguez, relationship manager, at Valley Bank
• "Beyond a Clean Audit: How to Measure Financial Stability" by Adam Holzberg and April Kushner, partners at SAX LLP
• "Skynet is Real" about AI and its use at nonprofits by Daniel S. Makoski, principal at Porzio Bromberg & Newman.

“The Morris County nonprofit sector provides invaluable services and resources to our community,” said Meghan Hunscher, chamber president. “While they receive assistance from the business community and County government, there might be no greater source for one-on- one support than other nonprofits. The Thrive Together Summit is an opportunity to bring all these key players together for the benefit of all, and we look forward to making it an annual event.”
